I’m trying to start a log of all the beautiful animals and other wildlife friends who visit our yard. Each and every one of them, big or small, winged or fuzzy, lighthearted or grumpy, plays an important, specific role in the delicate balance of nature and in this beautiful life ♥

So many beautiful friends in the yard today.

First, a male Red-winged Blackbird. He’s been visiting a lot recently and I hope he continues. When he comes to visit, I can always hear him before I see him.

Then I discovered a Virginia Creeper Sphinx Moth, just hanging out in one of the ferns.

Last but not least, a Lightning Bug 😍 Just chillin’ on the deck, in an iffy location, so I gently picked him up and let him fly free to find a safer place to relax and recharge before his big night of lighting up the skies.
